Madeira Sauce Recipe

The Madeira Sauce is a classic sauce made by adding Madeira wine to a basic demi-glace. The Madeira sauce is an excellent accompaniment for roasts and steaks.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat the demi-glace to a simmer and reduce for about 5 minutes.

  2. Stir in the Madeira wine and swirl in the butter. Serve right away.
Makes about 1 pint of Madeira Sauce.
