Turkey Club Sandwich Recipe

This turkey club sandwich can be made with deli meat, and it'll be really good. But wait until you make it with your own leftover turkey.

I love putting some leftover cranberry sauce on the sandwich, but if you don't have any, maybe you have some of the canned stuff in the back of your pantry.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 slices white bread
  • 2 leaves lettuce (Romaine, green leaf or iceberg)
  • 2 slices fresh tomato
  • 4 strips crispy bacon
  • 3-4 oz cooked turkey
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp cranberry sauce (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Toast three slices of bread. Spread one side of each slice with mayo.

  2. Place one lettuce leaf, the sliced tomato, the optional cranberry sauce and the bacon on one slice. Place a second slice over these ingredients, mayo-side down.

  3. Spread this top bread slice with mayo, and place the turkey and another lettuce leaf on it, then top with the remaining slice of bread.

  4. Cut the sandwich into triangles diagonally and serve.

A new spin on an old favorite, Member hollyrubich

I needed to get rid of some turkey deli meat when I came across this recipe. I even had a can of cranberry sauce...the jelled variety, in the cupboard. My husband and 23 yr. old son really liked it and I loved it! While it did have a tendency to squirt out when taking a bite, we all felt that the cranberry sauce was what made this sandwich great instead of just good. Using what I had on hand, I used for each sandwich: a bakery french hamburger bun sliced in 3rds, toasted lightly and spread w/ mayo as directed, spinach leaves, 1 slice of tomato, 2 slices of bacon, 2 slices of deli turkey, and 2 spoonfuls of cranberry sauce. Mmmm. Yummy! I will definitely make this again and am putting the recipe in my Thanksgiving file as I think using leftover roasted turkey as directed will be even more delicious.
