We've been discussing chicken off and on in this space for a while now, so it only seems fair to focus for a little bit on the egg — without which, we'd have no chicken. Or is it the other way around?

It's hard to say for sure. We do know that eggs are an important part of all kinds of breakfast dishes, and since breakfast comes first, we can probably assume that it's the egg that came first, as well.
